Be it birthdays, Christmas celebrations, or any other occasions, I often find myself in a position where people ask me what I really need. More often than not, my mind goes absolutely blank – it just seems that at that particular moment I seem to have all I need. Which of course it not true - so here is a list more so for myself than anything else that I will update on occasion when I can think of things I need.
1. Digital Camera – My old Minolta Dimage Xg still works, but it is showing its age. A three megapixel resolution is low compares to the current cream de la crop. Battery life has become terribly short and random artifacts on pictures suggest that the lens might be having some problems. Not to mention, the shutter-lag is very annoying as well and taking pictures without any stability control on dark areas is next to impossible.
2. Good Quality Headphones – It seems I somehow never find the time to pick up a set of good quality headphones. I’m not talking about DJ headphone here, since I have a good set of those, but regular headphones that can be used with an MP3 player or a laptop. They need to satisfy a few of criteria: good insulation of outside noise, decent sound quality, and absolutely must have a long cord. Should not be that hard to find, but I’ve simply been lazy.
3. Tennis Racquets – I really need to find a new set of tennis racquets. My efforts have been interrupted due to my knee injury but now I’m ready to start testing a few new frames. I better make my mind up quick since my current frame, a ten year old Head 280, has only a few more sets left in it structurally speaking.
4. DJ CD Player – I’ve come to the realization, after long resistance, that I need to move on from turntables. Don’t worry, I won’t be abandoning my faithful Technics any time soon, but at the same time getting new tracks on vinyl has become a rather difficult endeavor. I’m eyeing the Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3, now if only it were not that prohibitively expensive.
5. Bluetooth Headset – During my recent house hunting trips I seem to have somehow lost my Bluetooth headset. It is amazing how dependant I’ve become on this little gadget – I need to replace this little guy rather sooner than later.

6. Corssfader – It is high time for me to dust of my vinyl collection and get back onto the decks. They've been sitting idle for way too long. But first things first, and one of them is a new crossfader for my aging but still functional Numark 2002x mixer.
