air conditioner filter

E-mail Print PDF

The other day I decided to head out and obtain a new filter for my air conditioner at my apartment. Some of my friends are severely allergic to cats, and thus I figured obtaining a electrostatic filter might help them out whenever they are at my place. One would figure that obtaining a filter should be a rather straight forward thing: measure your current one, head out to a nearby store to buy a replacement, and install it a few minutes later. In reality that process can be quite tricky, especially when your air conditioning unit turns out to be one that requires a non-standard filter size. After spending several hours driving from wall-mart to lowes, to target, and finally to home-depot, and not finding one, I finally had to order one on the net. Should have probably done some research on the net first before heading out to the stores, but then again how was I supposed to know I had such a retarded air conditioner.

On a related and somewhat gross note, next time you are convinced that you might have crickets in your place, but no matter where you look you can't find them; consider checking your ac unit before spending a sleepless night. When removing the current air filter, I managed to find the remains of what must have been some unfortunate crickets that got stuck in the ac unit. And as sorry as I wanted to feel for these poor suckers, I did not, because they are extremely annoying.

Back to the economy: I'm convinced that for most young people, including me, it would be of great benefit to learn some Chinese over the course of the next few years, especially if their studies pertain to technical or entertainment subjects. According to the October issue of Fortune, Goldman Sachs projects that the Chinese economy will overtake Japan's by 2015 and America's by 2039 - Quite honestly, I think that might happen even earlier than the projection predicts.
