big cat

E-mail Print PDF

mikoToday it was officially confirmed that my cat, Miko, is indeed quite a big cat. It weighted in at almost sixteen pounds at the veterinarian. At the same time the veterinarian told me that Miko is not really overweight, she is just a big cat and in great shape for that matter. There was no particular reason for the visit other than the yearly check up. I also learned a few things here and there. For example, I was told that for bigger cats, one should refrain from varying food types since that can really affect their health and in worst cases lead to urinary tract infections, especially in male cats. In other words, if your cat likes the food it is getting, just keep on feeding it with it. Also, soft food, while probably better tasting than hard food, is actually worse for their teeth, so use it sparingly.

And while cats are cool whatnot, ants are very annoying and nasty. I found some ants close to my entry door. Just a few here and there, but that was enough to put me into a cleaning frenzy. I ended up vacuuming the whole place, sweeping the kitchen and mopping it. Then, I ran out and bought some ant killer stuff that I placed near the door, but so far I have not seen anymore of them. Nevertheless, I will have the apartment people come out this coming Wednesday to spray some insecticide.
