Laptop

E-mail Print PDF

I finally ordered a laptop for myself, after spending about a month contemplating which one to get. The problem was that I wanted great performance, portability, good battery life, something pleasing to the eye, and all of that at a reasonably good price. As you can guess, a laptop like that simply does not exist. What makes the problem even worse is that the more portable a laptop is, the more it costs, and generally the less powerful it is. So in essence one is paying more for less, literally. In the end, I decided to listen to my friend’s advice: “a laptop should do what it is designed to do, be portable and have a long battery life. If you want to play games, upgrade your desktop.” Since I will be using the laptop mostly for development I think the above applies very well. In addition, my decision was further facilitated by the fact that the website of the computer maker from whom I ordered the laptop had a little hiccup, allowing me to stack two coupons on top of each other, effectively reducing the price of the laptop by 44 percent. Now I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that my order won’t get canceled.
