The last couple of months have been busy for various reasons and quite stressful at times, but with the holidays around the corner it is time to put together a preliminary schedule for the next few weeks, and well, for a few months beyond that. First there is of course the annual bajkowski Christmas party this coming weekend which will be a blast as always. In addition, expect to see me bumming around Atlanta beginning later this week hitting up some of my favorite joints - those that are still around that is. Next stop after Christmas will be some skiing and snowboarding up in Park City, Utah over New Years. I’ve skied the Salt Lake City area quite a bit with my buddy Alessandro a couple years ago, this time around I’ll try my best not to take out any people while flying down the slopes in Park City. We have a fantastic group of people heading out there and I’m sure it will be a super time. We haven’t put any plans in motion for the actual New Year’s Eve per se, but all the major blocks including flights, hotel and lift tickets are in place. It will be a cold one, but it will be a blast.

Colorado skiing trip pictures are up
At times I’m amazed that my personal site gets any hits at all give my update frequency - I suppose some lost Internet souls stumble upon it by accident on occasion. Anyhow, I finally uploaded pictures from our skiing trip to Colorado. We flew into Denver and then proceeded to ski and snowboard in Breckenridge as well as Keystone. Both areas are fantastic skiing destinations. Breckenridge, the town, has a very cool small ski town kind o feel with plenty of restaurants and boutiques to keep you occupied in the evenings after you are done skiing. Where as Keystone feels more like a modern ski-in ski-out resort town. Both skiing areas and lift facilities are excellent, with Breckenridge getting the nod for some of the more challenging runs, and Keystone getting the node for one of the most enjoyable runs which must stretch for three miles in length or more. Not being early morning people, we found that the major downside of Breckenridge was that the skiing areas offer no night skiing, so you might need to get up early to get the most out of your day pass. Not all is lost though as Keystone offers plenty of night skiing and that they accept the day pass from Breckenridge - so if you can squeeze in an early dinner there is plenty of skiing to be done in the evening hours. The drive from Breckenridge to Keystone is only about 20 minutes in very snowy conditions. Our condo was part of the Wildwood Suites and offered ample space and cozy accommodations. Not to mention it was pretty much ski-in ski-out right of the Four O'Clock Run which made it super easy to get to the slopes. While in Breckenridge be sure to check out the Breckenridge Brewery for a few tasty pints, some food, and a great atmosphere. If fine dining is more to your liking be sure to check out Modis. Is is rather on the pricey side but the food and service will not disspoint you. When in Keystone and hungry after a day out on the slopes, stop by Luigi’s Pasta House - it offers great ambiance and the pasty was very satisfying to say the list. If you get a chance be sure to swing by some of the breweries in Denver as well. We only has time to hit up the Rock Bottom Brewery, but suffice it to say that at this altitude not many pints are needed! We had such a blast that come this New Year we are organizing a big group to go skiing up in Park City, Utah for a few days. If you're interested be sure to hit me up as soon as possible since we'll be finalizing the trip in the next few weeks. Anyhow, log in and enjoy the pics.
The forgotten Portland pictures are finally up
I was arranging files on my system and noticed that I never uploaded the Portland, Oregon pictures from my conference trip last summer. That is a real shame since there are quite a few cool pictures in that set, so go ahead login and enjoy. In case you need to associate the pictures with places, take a look at my trip recap over here. In the mean time I’ve been doing more travelling as always. There was the usual Christmas trip to Atlanta for the holidays, and only a week ago or so I was out in Breckenridge, Colorado for some way overdue snowboarding. A couple years ago I went out snowboarding in Utah, you can read about the places I hit up there over here, which was an absolute blast. It seems as though these two years went by in a flash and I had no problems picking up right where I left off. But the time I was done with this four day escape from Austin I managed to land a few descent jumps which I was quite happy about. Of course there was quite a bit more to the trip than just getting down the slopes, but more about that when I upload the actual pictures in the next week or so. I need to start uploading the pictures and doing the trip recaps at the same time, otherwise it gets simply too confusing. Generally, I’m liking my alternating spring schedule of winter destination one year, and a beach destination the next. It would be great if I could do both each year, but hey, I’ll take that for now. Next up is SXSW2011, which should be a blast, if last year is any indication. Looking forward to a lot of peeps coming down to Austin – time to catch up with friends from around the globe!
